Mind Games

We’re playing those mind games together
Pushing the barriers planting seeds
Playing the mind guerrilla
Chanting the Mantra peace on earth
We all been playing those mind games forever
Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil
Doing the mind guerrilla
Some call it magic the search for the grail

Love is the answer and you know that for sure
Love is a flower you got to let it grow

So keep on playing those mind games together
Faith in the future out of the now
You just can’t beat on those mind guerrillas
Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind
Yeah we’re playing those mind games together
Projecting our images in space and in time

Yes is the answer and you know that for sure
Yes is surrender you got to let it go

So keep on playing those mind games together
Doing the ritual dance in the sun
Millions of mind guerrillas
Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel
Keep on playing those mind games together
Raising the spirit of peace and love
(I want you to make love, not war
I know you’ve heard it before)

Political Winds

‘Political Winds’ by Amber Acker

Some mornings
the whole world seems dark enough
not even the sun can burst forth
rays of enlightenment.
My eyes burn fleeting fissures
in clouds thick enough to choke my mind,
threatening my consciousness
with false mutterings of goodness.
The eeriness of evil
spreads across us like a velvet cloak,
delusionally comforting
to those already caught
in the whirling tornado
of corrupted politics.

Feeling so safe
snuggled deep beneath our patchwork quilt
of army tanks,
military bombers,
and fighter jets,
we eagerly wait for the hate
to trickle down through the system
and settle crushingly on our hearts.
A new black plague ravishes our nation with weakness,
killing the voices that once arose and argued against corruption,
knitting an understanding sheet
to contend the velvet darkness.

The cloud cover grows thicker with each passing day,
shedding no light on a far away land
where blind knights fly into a battle
ordered by a king
who knowingly pulls wool over his eyes,
some how undisturbed
by vicious political winds
whipping around him.
